Police yet to complete probe.

Police could not complete the investigation in the sensational case of attack on Sylhet Government Women Medical College student Khadiza Akter Nargis even one month after the incident. 
Senior assistant general secretary of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology unit of ruling Awami League-backed student organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League, Badrul Alam, brutally attacked Khadiza and critically injured her on October 3. 
Badrul, also a fourth year economics student, attacked Khadiza, a second year bachelor students of SGWMC, when she came out of her examination centre at MC College in the city. 
The MC College students sent Khadiza to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in a critical condition after rescuing her from the spot. 
On the following morning of the incident, the victim was shifted to Square Hospital in the capital since her condition 
deteriorated. 
The MC College students also gave Badrul a mass beating and then handed him over to police. Khadiza’s uncle Siddek Ali filed a case with Shah Paran police against him on 
October 4. 
Badrul also confessed to the additional chief magistrate court in Sylhet on October 5 that he attacked Khadiza to kill her since she did not respond to his repeated appeals of love. 
Protests raised from different quarters across the country as a video recording of the incident of hacking Khadiza was circulated on social web portals including Facebook and 
Youtube.

The government high-ups at that time had assured of speedy trial of Khadiza’s attacker. Officials of the local administration and Sylhet Metropolitan Police also had promised to provide all kinds of supports for the speedy and proper trial of Badrul. 
Talking to New Age, Siddek Ali said that it was out of his comprehension as to why the police were taking so much time to file the charge sheet in the case, when the accused has already confessed to the court about his crime. 

When contacted, SMP additional commissioner SM Rokan Uddin told they were investigating in the incident of brutal attack putting highest importance. 
‘The query is being conducted taking a bit time, so that the accused cannot evade punishment due to lack of information in the police report’, the SMP official said. 
Investigation officer in the case, Harun-Ur Rashid, also a sub-inspector of the Shah Paran police station, however, told New Age on Friday afternoon that the investigation in the case has been completed.
‘We will file the charge sheet to the court next week,’ the police officer affirmed.
