Barisal Bulls have defeated Comilla Victorians by six wickets in the Bangladesh Premier League match on Friday.
This is the first victory for Barisal against Comilla and also in this edition of BPL. Meanwhile, Mashrafe’s team has not been able to pick up a win so far.
Chasing the target of 130, Barisal lost Munaweera early. Shamsur also departed scoring 16.
However, Barisal had the game under control all over the match as Malan’s 26, Mushfiqur’s 33 and Perera’s quick 34 runs helped the side picking up a comfortable victory.
Sohail Tanvir, Imad Wasim, Nabil Samad and Sharif grabbed one wicket each.
Earlier, defending champions Comilla scored 129 at the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs.
Imrul Kayes departed in the second ball of the innings while losing wickets at regular interval halted Comilla’s chance of big total.
Marlon Samuels scored 48 from the same amount of balls while Sohel Tanvir’s cameo of 30 from 19 balls helped the side to gather the total.
Khalid Latif scored 12, Shanto 16 and no other batsmen were able to touch the two figure score.
Abu Hider took two wickets while Al Amin, Emrit, Taijul and Perera took one wicket each.
