The Samsung Galaxy E7 is a good mid-range device with a super AMOLED display and unibody. But so many people might not love it to compare with competitors that are offering tons of extra useful features. In order to port awesome features of other great phones to your E7, you might need rooting. Here is how to root the Samsung Galaxy E7. Root the device so you can get permissions to modify system files for better usability.
Rooting gives you permissions to access system software, install many many useful apps, remove unwanted preinstalled apps, and customize the interface. But before you get started, keep in mind that rooting voids the warranty.

METHOD ONE – CHAINFIRE’S AUTO ROOT
This is very popular method for getting Samsung devices rooted in very short time. But there are some bad points with it. This rooting will trip the trip the KNOX warranty and wipe device’s data (if device is encrypted). You can try this on many variants of Galaxy E5 (SM-E500F, SM-E500H, and SM-E500M).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Windows-based computer, USB cable, and USB drivers of device installed on computer.
- Antivirus and Firewall software (including Samsung KIES/SmartSwitch) can interrupt Odin’s operations, so kindly disable them (it is not important to uninstall everything, just disable them).
- Make sure USB debugging is enabled under Settings>Developer options (Note: If you do not find developer options, go to Settings>>About phone/tablet/device, find build number and start tapping on it until you get message confirming you are now a developer. After this action, developer options should be shown).
- Charge your device so we can avoid interruptions in procedure.
- Download Odin3.xxx.zip file to your computer.
Step One: Check, what is model number of device you are using (go to Settings>>About Device/Phone/Tablet).
Step Two: Go to Chainfire’s website and download CF-Auto-Root tool according to your device model on your computer (Note: Do everything carefully, carrying a wrong file can bring you in loss).
Step Three: Unzip all the files you have downloaded and run Odin3.xxx.exe file (it may ask for administrative rights).
Step Four: Turn your device off and boot it into download mode.
Tip: To boot device in download mode, press and hold the volume down, home, and power keys at the same time. When you see a warning message, leave them and hit volume up key to enter in download mode.
Step Five: Plug your device to computer using a USB cable and Odin3 should detect it (Note: If color of ID:COM port does not change, your device is not connected properly. If you experience this issue, make sure device’s drivers are properly installed).
Step Six: Now press PDA/AP button in Odin and select the .tar.md5 file (you have downloaded it second step).
Step Seven [Very important]: Make sure ‘repartition’ box in Odin3 is not checked. Do not make any change, just make sure what is asked.
Step Eight: Now simply hit ‘Start’ button and rooting should be started.
Your device will turn off and automatically go in recovery mode. If you do not find device entering in recovery mode, boot it manually in recovery mode to continue rooting).
Step Nine: Once your device is booted in normal mode, you done.
Tip: Sometimes, your device does not enter in recovery mode automatically and keep rooting process continue. If you experience this issue, simply repeat the entire guide again. Then, if you still not see rooting file installed on device after installation. Make sure ‘auto reboot’ option in Odin is unchecked and after installation, turn off device, remove the battery from device, put battery back, and boot it using volume up, home and power keys for recovery mode. After that the installation should start again.
Your Galaxy phone is rooted now, enjoy.
METHOD TO FLASH SUPERSU MANUALLY
Chainfire has yet to cover all the Samsung devices, so it is possible that your device’s model is not featured on the website of developer. But you can try to install Chainfire’s SuperSU manually using a custom recovery such as TWRP (In this method we are showing how to install SuperSU.zip file with TWRP). If you are interested, check details below but take a backup of your device’s data first.
Step One: Download Chainfire’s SuperSu.zip file.
Step Two: Copy the downloaded zip file to your device.
Step Three: Turn off your Samsung device and boot into recovery mode (boot device by pressing and holding down volume up, home, and power keys at the same time to enter in recovery mode).
Step Four: Take a backup, it is optional but important because if something happen bad in rooting, backup file will help you to restore previous state easily. So press ‘backup’ button, check all the boxes for backing up everything and then swipe to start the game.
Step Five: Once you have taken the backup file, press ‘install’ button, locate the SuperSu.zip file and confirm you want to install it.
Step Six: Reboot the device and your device is rooted.
You are now a rooted user.
